SUMMER??

Well, the SEASON has begun, if not the SUMMER. It’s been chilly in Door County! Today is positively glorious, with bright blue skies and warm sunshine, but at only 60° it hardly seems like summer!

Our guests haven’t seemed to mind, though, as they go about their usual Door County endeavors – shopping, antiquing, dining, and sightseeing – though I haven’t heard anyone mention water sports in the past few days!
And what a magical place to sightsee: everything is in bloom. Cherry trees are an explosion of fluffy nosegays, acres and acres of them. The lilacs are ready to burst and I’ll bet you can smell them from there. Crabapple trees, redbuds, mock apple trees, all in assorted shades of pink. Forsythia is just about to take the spotlight and their sunshiny branches will be a feast for the eyes. Add to this the green, green fields as the farmers’ crops emerge from the black soil and the blue, blue waters of the lake and bay and truly the county is a clamor of color and aroma.

Soon it will actually feel like summer and everyone will want to be in Door County! We’ve already had several disappointed callers as they’ve discovered their dates are booked. Weekends are always busy at The Liberty Lodge and some of them have been booked solid for weeks – so if you can come during the week you’re at an advantage in trying to reserve a room. Don’t wait, just like that red button says, “BOOK ONLINE NOW” – or give us a call at 920-854-2025 and my front desk staff and I will be happy to help you find the perfect accommodations for your getaway.
